I’m an independent filmmaker and video artist working in hybrid documentary and VR.

My first film, Despite the Gods, premiered in Toronto at Hot Docs and screened at over 40 international film festivals winning best film, best director, and best comedy awards. My next feature, Ordinary Wonderlands, is in production.

I’ve led masterclasses in nonfiction filmmaking at the Victorian College of the Arts, Stockholm International Film Festival, and RMU Pittsburgh where I was also a filmmaker-in-residence. My films have received funding from Screen Australia, Documentary Australia, the Australian Film Commission, and National Geographic.  I’m also a Berlinale Talents alumna.

My side project is creating single-take dream-themed video art. The first video in this series, Precious, was short-listed for London’s Shots Magazine Asia-Pacific New Director Award and won the inaugural Sandfly Film Festival.

In 2025, I’ll be working on a rotoscoped documentary about subversive romance writers in Northern Nigeria and a VR series on biodiversity conflicts. Upcoming participatory artworks focus on designing and developing data sonification and XR experiences for peace interventions.

Australian but based in Sweden, I hold a BA (Hons) in English Literature and a Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies.  I’m planning to pursue an interdisciplinary PhD in Film + Peace and Conflict Studies with a research focus on strategic VR narratives for intractable conflicts, starting in 2026.

In my downtime, I coordinate and lead the volunteer photography networks for Amnesty International in Sweden and Australia.
